Taking 620 HP to the fastest branded motor racing event in the world – Fabian Vettel and BFFT will be participating in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo event, using an Italian racer with double the horsepower on tracks very similar to those used for Formula 1. Fabian Vettel (19) is entering the next step of his racing career with his main sponsor BFFT, the automotive vehicle technology developers from Ingolstadt. The younger brother of four-time Formula One world champion Sebastian Vettel will be piloting a 620-hp Lamborghini Huracán (5.2-litre V10) at the Lamborghini Super Trofeo this weekend.
After earning his spurs as a pro in the Audi Sport TT cup last year with a 330-hp racer, Fabian Vettel will be opening up the throttle in the fastest branded motor racing event in the world. The six races of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europa event is incorporated in the high-profile Blancpain GT series. The series is hosted at legendary Formula 1 circuits such as Monza, Silverstone or Spa-Francorchamps, at which the skills of Fabian Vettel’s famous brother Sebastian can often be admired. “This is something really special for me,” said the school-leaver in the run-up to the first two races in Monza.
BFFT has been Fabian Vettel’s main sponsor since 2017. The automotive technology developer headquartered in Ingolstadt is part of the EDAG Group and employs more than 800 employees at several locations in Germany, and at offices in Italy and the USA. One of BFFT’s major clients is the VW Group, particularly for Audi and the premium brands Lamborghini and Bentley. Other clients include several big names in the automotive and aviation industries. BFFT focuses on providing these clients with newly-developed or improved driver assistance systems, digitisation and electromobility.
The sponsorship benefits Fabian Vettel and BFFT equally. In addition to promoting the prominent young racing driver, the sponsorship package covers a wide variety of fan events, including meeting Fabian on the BFFT Fansofa, trips to events with the BFFT Fanmobil, VIP camping on the Motodrome and a proprietary Fabian Vettel fan collection.
“We are looking forward to accompanying Fabian Vettel on the next step in his racing career. His determination, sporting ambition and meticulousness are a perfect match for us,” explains Managing Director and co-founder Markus Fichtner. “Fabian focuses on cutting-edge automotive technology and constantly strives to improve his performance in order to reach the next level at the right time. This attitude is something that he has in common with our talented young developers,” muses Fichtner; “Just like him, they are highly motivated and focus on future technology, so the entire BFFT team are looking forward to the new racing season with Fabian Vettel with excitement and enthusiasm.”
