Functional safety & cyber security

Right of way for safety – also on data highways

Safety is a holistic task.

With increasing networking and vehicle automation, challenges for ever more comprehensive safety management systems are growing. The Functional Safety & Cyber Security competence centre is all about an all-encompassing, holistic approach to safety. Our success is full confidence in security, which has a very high priority for our modern society and is demonstrable and noticeable through our work.

In order to do justice to society’s security demands, expertise of an experienced development partner is in special demand. Our service portfolio ranges from temporarily supporting our customers’ individual work packages to installing a tailor-made safety management system that meets all normative and legal requirements. Collaborations with colleges and universities ensure the latest findings from science and research are incorporated in the Functional Safety & Cyber Security competence centre.

Last but not least, consistently applying safety standards such as ISO 26262, IEC 61508, IEC 13849 or SOTIF 21498 contributes to full confidence in the developments.

Which we know very well

  • Functional safety management
  • Safety engineering from the concept and secure architectures to release security engineering from the infrastructure to the components
  • Independent safety & security assessments
  • Method expertise (FMEA, FTA, HAZOP, TARA, …)
  • Consulting & training
  • Supplier management including audits and assessments
  • Transfer best practices of different industries

What is becoming more important

Increasing networking of driver assistance systems via cloud applications enables new dimensions for security concepts and infrastructures. On the other hand, completely new and sometimes very dangerous attack scenarios have become possible.

Our answers to security threats

  • Sophisticated processes whose quality is confirmed externally
  • Individual adaptation of proven approaches and (partial) solutions
  • Attack-resistant designs for vehicles/systems/components
  • Know-how about new, changing attack scenarios and their motivations
  • Developing countermeasures via formal methods

Where we want to go

In order to meet the latest legal requirements, we want to offer our customers certified work products and fully support them in their vehicle registration.
