Sensor Raw Data (SRD) Fusion is an innovative software engine that creates an accurate vehicle environment model based on any ADAS sensor. Sensor fusion based on object lists provided by the sensors paves the way to the next levels of autonomous driving. Environmental models based on sensor raw data are becoming increasingly important for both OEMs and first-tier suppliers.

The range of services offered by the EDAG BFFT SRD Fusion Engine includes:

  • Perception of the vehicle environment
  • Detection of static as well as dynamic elements in the vehicle environment via the two functions gridmap (3D) and object tracking
  • 360° data fusion by integrating sensor raw data from radar, LIDAR and camera
  • Possibility of integrating additional sensor types such as DGPS or ultrasound

Special feature of modular functions programmed in C++ is they can be used universally in ADTF and ROS frameworks. In addition, the entire scope can be supplemented with the additional modules object classification or lane recognition. Depending on requirements, the SRD Fusion Engine can be used to benchmark ADAS sensors, as a reference model to protect autopilots, or as data fusion for autonomous driving Level 4 and above (SAE J3016).
